There seems to be a lot of disappointment surrounding this film, perhaps some people lost in their desire for a film to provide the depth. Perhaps some people are looking to cling desperately to the silver screen in the hope that it will deliver a strong, progressive, narrative that that leaves them a little confused, but mostly feeling intelligent and oh my- much richer for the whole experience.
Sometimes I want these things. Sometimes I want colours, lots of fu*%ing colours. Dead pan, rad dudes and a whole lota speed. I don't think the Wachowski brothers can't be faulted on this one, sure its not as hard hitting as the Matrix, doesn't require so much from the audience, but it is a hell of a lot brighter.
If you go into this with an empty head, not looking to hang to much on, and please remember to check the rating, (that's normally at least a hint to who it's targeted it at) then I think you'll have a good time.
Oh the synopsis- racing cars, good guys, bad guys, good guy win (oops, sorry- oh what the hell; while I'm at it, if you haven't seen it- the Titanic sinks too)
